Question 4:Why is /are my child(ren) not saying the name of letters, rather giving me the sounds?

Answer 4:Language in the Montessori classroom is taught phonetically. Children are taught the sound of each symbol (26 letters) to eliminate any confusion.

Question 5:My child(ren) is working with four digit numbers but cannot read them out properly?

Answer 5:Your child(ren) will be taught numbers in the appropriate order of hierarchy. Though to avoid confusion they will combine the numerals or quantities using "and" as the key; e.g. "Johnny can you get both the numerals and the quantities for three thousands, five hundreds, six tens, and two ones". The child sees the numbers as combined, sees the numerals as combined and need no further information until they are ready to absorb the notion that 3562 is one number with different amounts in each digit. Comprehension is paramount not forced memorization.
