A brief history of Yip's Children's Choir:

Yip's Children's Choir (Canada) has been steadily growing in the past years. Performances have taken the Choir to Massey Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, and Ford Centre for the Performing Arts locally. In 1992, 1993, 1996, and 1999, the Choir made highly successful overseas concert tours to Vancouver, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China for cultural exchange. In 1993 and 1996, it also launched two CD albums, "We, the Children" and "Ocean! My Homeland", which received rave reviews. The Choir collaborates frequently with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra and can be heard on radio and television nationally. In the summer 1999, the choir was invited by the International Society for Children's Choral and Performing Arts to perform at the International Children's Choir Festivals in Beijng and Hong Kong. A televisin documentary of the tour was produced by CFMT television. In 2000 & 2001, Yip's choir was again invited by International Choral Festival to perform in Calgary, Germany, Austria and Czech Republic.

Yip's Children's Choir (Canada) is part of a worldwide music education organization founded by the noted pedagogue, Dr. Yip Wai-Hong with campuses in Hong Kong and Toronto. The Hong Kong Choirs have visited and performed in more than seventy cities in twenty-five countries.

The training emphasizes on choral singing technique, basic rudiments, ear-training, sight-singing, music appreciation and the involvement in local and overseas music activities and performances. The choir members will learn and gain precious experiences through different exposures.
